LUBEC – Sidney L. Farmer, 72, died July 13, 2004, at the Maine veterans’ Home in Bangor after a long illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Lubec, the son of Sidney and Laura Davis Farmer. Sid was an Air Force Veteran serving from 1956 to 1960. He was employed many years by Pratt Whitney of Connecticut; and by W.A. Bean Co. and Grant’s Dairy, both of Bangor. Surviving are two sons, Sanford Farmer and his wife, Denise, of Gray, Burton Farmer and his wife, Kim, of Chicopee, Mass.; one daughter, Nancy Janse of Amherst, Mass.; one brother, John E. Farmer and his wife, Dodo, of Millinocket; two sisters, Eileen McFadden and her husband, Jimmy, Rena F. Farmer, all of Lubec; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Friday, July 16, 2004, at the Christian Temple Church, Lubec, with Pastor John Tremblett officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service time. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Olson Cemetery, Lubec. Arrangements are by the Scott-Wilson Funeral home of Calais.
