PORTLAND – Sister Mary Celine, RSM, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006. In 1958, Sister Celine was assigned to Madigan Memorial Hospital, Houlton, where she ministered until asked to serve at the newly opened ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, Eagle Lake, serving at the nursing and boarding home. She remained in Eagle Lake for 27 years. There will be a memorial Mass 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Church of St. Mary?s, Eagle Lake, in memory and gratitude for Sister Mary Celine?s many years of service to the people of Northern Maine. Members of her family and religious community will be present for this memorial Mass.
