HOWE BROOK T-8 R-4 and BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Stanley Wilson Pierce, 74, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the Togus Veterans Hospital after a short illness. He was born on Sept. 15, 1929, in Boothbay Harbor, to Hardie W. and Velma (Brown) Pierce. Stanley was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and was an avid birder and cribbage player. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Lorenzo Pierce; three stepchildren, Tina, Robbie and Toby Lorenzo; three sisters and their spouses, Mona and Harlen McGee of Topeka, Kan., Regina and David Newall of Maiden, N.C., Carol and Henry Abbott of Boothbay Harbor; a sister-in-law, Marjorie (Pierce) Pires of Kingston, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Stan was predeceased by both parents; a brother, Hardie Pierce; and life-long friend, Gerry Lewis. He will be missed by many friends and neighbors too numerous to name. A service to celebrate his life will be held sometime in the spring at Howe Brook at a time to be anounced. Contributions in Stan’s memory may be made to the Houlton Humane Society, Callahan Road, Houlton.
