BREWER – Stella E. (Theriault) Soucie, 79, wife of the late Raymond G. Soucie, died July 8, 2006, at a local hospital. She was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Caribou, the daughter of Isadore and Florence (Brissette) Theriault. Stella was a graduate of John Bapst High School and attended Husson College. She worked as a waitress for many years at the Atlantic Restaurant and at Pilot’s Grill and owned “Cakes and Catering by Stella,” her own catering service, for 34 years. Stella was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Parish and was active in many areas of church life. She was a member and officer of the Ave Maria Circle, Daughters of Isabella and St. Teresa’s Sodality. She enjoyed her volunteer work at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor, playing the piano and playing at other area nursing homes. She enjoyed taking part in the French Club in the Bangor area. Surviving are her children, Rhonda Lee Soucie-Grindle of Boca Grande, Fla. and Seal Harbor, Catherine Ann Soucie of Excelsior Springs, Mo., Kenneth J. Soucie of Brewer and Daniel P. Soucie of Eddington; five grandsons, Ryan C. Soucie and Jenn, Aaron B. Soucie, Stephen M. Hardy and his wife, Aimee Shattuck, Benjamin C. Weir, Gerald Mark Weir; two great-grandsons, Nolan M. Soucie and Lucian Shattuck Hardy; one sister, Delores Hainer of Hampden; a special aunt, Janette Andrews of Caribou; a sister-in-law, L. Frances Soucie of Brewer; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband in 2002; two sons, Mark R. Soucie in 1980 and Dr. Ronald I. Soucie in 2003; a sister, Nancy Boone in 2003. Family and friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday, July 14, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt celebrant.
