TOWN HILL – Stephen C. Dyer, 57, died Dec. 15, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 9, 1947, in Bangor, the son of Roger J. and Mary E. (Carver) Dyer. Steve will always be remembered for his zest for life and for his love of his children. It was watching his children grow, graduate from high school and become adults that sustained him during the past years. Kebo Valley Golf Course was his passion. He was a talented furniture maker and he owned and operated the Ocean Drive Dairy Bar in Bar Harbor and the Salty Dog in Orono for many years. Steve owned and operated the Ocean Drive Motor Court for 20 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Amanda Dyer; two sons, Jesse Dyer and Corey Dyer; one daughter, Katie Dyer, all of Town Hill; three aunts, Celestine LaChance and Bernice LaMontagne, both of Augusta and Alice Buckler of Louisville, Ky.; and father-in-law, Francis Rovnak of York. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
