DEDHAM and HOLDEN Steve Foster Gray, 47, died unexpectedly March 6, 2004. He was born in Bangor, April 21, 1956, the son of Foster and Irene (Gray) Gray. He was in the Class of 1975 at Brewer High School. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Marilyn “Pokey” (Murray) Gray. They first resided in Brewer, and soon after moved to Dedham and raised their family in the home in which he was raised. He worked at C.E. Noyes, Eastern Fine Paper for 23 years, J & C Transportation for 15 years, and most recently with Haggan Transport of Hermon, hauling postal mail. He also worked for Dale Henderson Logging. Steve enjoyed many hobbies including softball, snowmobiling and riding his “Honda Shadow” of which he will be remembered as the “Dark Shadow.” He loved spending time at camp on Harriman Pond. One of his passions was driving truck, where he spent many special days on the road with his trucking friends. Against all odds, Steve’s injuries and illnesses required countless operations that kept him from doing many of the things that he so enjoyed. His most recent diagnoses of cancer was successfully treated and he was so looking forward to getting back to work. He was about to fulfill that dream, as his doctors just informed him he was able to return to work. Steve’s greatest joy was his family, who he loved very dearly. He was so proud of his two daughters, Brandy and Amanda, and dedicated his life to being the best dad ever. He felt so blessed with a wonderful “son-in-law”, Eric. His greatest bundle of joy, was his granddaughter, Michela, to whom he was known as “Bampa.” She was indeed the light of his life that enabled him to get through it all. Surviving in addition to his wife, Pokey Gray of Dedham, are his two daughters, Brandy J. Malchiodi and her husband, Eric, and Amanda Gray; his special angel and granddaughter, Michela Malchiodi, all of Dedham; his parents, Foster and Irene Gray; one brother, Wayne Gray and his wife, Joan, all of Dedham; his special nephew, Shawn M.
