ASHLAND – Steven J. Clark, 49, died March 29, 2007, as a result of a snowmobile accident. He was born Aug. 11, 1957, in Presque Isle, the son of Frederick and Rita M. (Jimmo) Clark. Steve was educated in local schools and was self-employed as a logging contractor for many years. A loving husband and dedicated father; he was very fond of all children. He was a best friend to many who knew him and were close to him. Steve was always willing to give a hand to anyone who needed help, whether they were a friend or stranger. He loved his work and was passionate about the logging competitions he was involved with. He came in first in the state logging competition for two years, qualifying him for the national competition, in which he participated. He will be sadly missed by his family, his many friends and by all who knew him well. Steve is survived by his loving wife, Ann (Cote) Clark of Ashland; four children, Edward Bellanceau and his wife, Jamie, of Perham, Molly Clark, Matthew Clark and Kathaleen Clark, all of Ashland; two brothers, Paul Clark of West Hartford, Conn., and Robert Morrow of Ashland; one stepsister, Kathy Winslow of Ashland; two stepbrothers, Keith Morrow and Terry Morrow, both of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Steven and Macie Bellanceau. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Frederick Clark, Wendell Clark, Larry Clark and Roger Clark. Relatives and friends may call 4-7 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in his memory to a scholarship fund to benefit his daughter, Kathaleen, in care of Ann Clark, 1027 Frenchville Road, Ashland, ME 04732.
