CHAPMAN – Sue L. Roope, 64, beloved wife of Edward A. Roope, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, after a long and courageous fight with cancer, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough. She was born Aug. 7, 1943, in Mars Hill, the daughter of the late Earl and Beulah (Kinney) Lunney. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, she enjoyed family, friends, church and gardening. On April 19, 1970, she married the love of her life, Edward Roope. Surviving her is her husband, Edward of Standish; their children, Gretchen of Hayden, Ala., Dorothy of Toponas, Colo., Lynn of Encinitas, Calif., Patricia of Winston/ Salem, N.C., Stephen of New York City, Kathy of Steep Falls, Patrick of El Cajon, Calif., and Jason of Biddeford; their eight beloved grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judith Merriam of Russellville, Ky., and Sandra Carter of Chapman, her bestfriend; three brothers, Dennis Lunney of Crystal River, Fla., Gene Lunney of Presque isle, and Tom Lunney of Houlton; and their spouses and loved ones; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her niece, Lyn Carter. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, 387 Centerline Road, Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Kavanaugh officiating. A spring graveside service will be held at a later date at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation-Maine Affiliate, P.O.
