DEER ISLE – Susan Dale Eaton “Sister,” 49, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, April 30, 2004, surrounded by her loving family and friends at the Island Nursing Home after a long courageous battle with cancer. Susie was born June 29, 1954, in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of Burlyn and Janet (Eaton) Eaton. Susie attended grammar school in Westbrook, Conn., and graduated from Deer Isle-Stonington High School, Class of 1972. She worked in several retail businesses over her lifetime, most recently at the Burnt Cove Market, the Island Family Fitness Center and the Goose Cove Lodge. She was a devoted employee and was a hard working girl. Susie had many talents, including sewing, gardening and jewelry making. One of her biggest loves were her cats and dogs. In addition to her parents of Deer Isle, she is survived by a sister, Robbin Wilson and her husband, Steven, and their two children, Michael and Rebekah, all of Sharon, Mass.; two brothers, David Eaton and his wife, Valentina, and James Eaton and his wife, Tracey, all of Little Deer Isle; a step-grandmother, Alicia Eaton of Penobscot; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Susie had many special people in her life, including her cousins, Nancy Weed and Twyla Weed; and friends, Sandy Buxton and Patty Clough. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Ralph and Ramona Eaton, Cecil and Geneva Eaton; and her step-grandmother, Doris Eaton. Memorial services will be held for family and friends 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the Community of Christ, North Deer Isle. Gifts in memory of Susie may be sent to The Ark Animal Shelter, P.O.
