COLUMBIA FALLS – Susie G. Emerson, 75, of Columbia Falls, died April 13, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Columbia Falls, to Maynard W. and Lena (Merritt) Grant. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School, Class of 1948. Susie worked hard all her life. She held many offices in the towns of Columbia Falls and Jonesport. She was a bookkeeper for the family owned business and Pleasant River Canning Co-op. Susie packed fish, picked blueberries, delivered babies, made wreaths and her last job was with Senior Companion. Her hobbies were crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading and working with the Sea Coast Mission. Also was a member of the Orceola Grange. Her love for her two kitties was much, Beauty and Jinx. Susie is survived by her four children, Cheryl Worcester and her husband, Tom, of Columbia, Sue Boling and her husband, John, of Lenoior City, Tenn., Rebecca Emerson of Glenburn, and Michael Emerson and his wife, Melissa, of Addison; seven grandchildren, Christopher Vose and his wife, Natashia, and their children, Tyler and Griffin, all of Farragut, Tenn., Jesse Vose of Lenoir City, Tenn., Dan Worcester and his wife, Eilean of Acton, Cameron Worcester of Columbia, Rebecca Emerson of Glenburn, and Catherine and Michael Emerson II of Addison; her brother, Vergil Grant of Campton, N.H.; sisters, Helena (Winkie) Bartlett and her husband, Sonny, of East Millinocket, Nadine McCluskey of Atkinson, Dorrice Austin and her husband, Ron, of New Gloucester; she also leaves an aunt; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Betty Emerson. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Eugene; a sister, Arlene Knight on March 5, 2005; and a niece, Susan Whynot. A graveside service will be held for family and friends at the Indian River Cemetery, Addison, date to be announced at a later time.
