HAMPDEN and BANGOR Sydney Phyllis (Arey) Sayce, 46, went to be with her reward May 7, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1960, in Oahu, in the Hawaiian Islands, the daughter of M. Elizabeth Goss and the late Sidney Phillip Arey. She was known to the family as “Suzi,” and to her many friends as “Syd.” She traveled extensively and was educated in Hawaii, California, North Carolina, and Brewer. She fought her cancer bravely for four years and lost the battle, but gained eternal life with her Lord. She enjoyed books, the Patriots, and the Red Sox. She is survived by her mother, M. Elizabeth Goss and her stepfather, Kenneth H. Goss; her beloved daughter, Korin Green and the love of her life, Bob Bailey; sister, Dawn M. Arey and her fianc?, Keith Filtz; son, Aaron J. Lobley and his wife, Bree and three children, Apryl, Nicole, and Aaron; sister, Kristina Clark and her husband, Tim and two children, Garrett and Paula; brother, Robert Arey and his wife, Ellen and his daughter, Alexx; one uncle, Owen Arey; four cousins, Owen and Dale Arey, James Smith, and Terri Dorr; and many friends, especially Connie White. She was predeceased by her father, Sidney P. Arey; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. A celebration of her life will be held 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Abundant Life Church, 1404 Broadway, Bangor, 945-5577. Casual dress preferred, jeans are OK. Flowers may be sent to the church.
