CUSHING – Sydney R. Dobbs, 98, present holder of the Boston Post Cane and former Cushing town moderator, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Pond View Boarding Home, Cushing. He was the husband of Bettina Dobbs. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Trinity Baptist Missionary Church, Thomaston, by former Pastor Larry Wheelis, with a reception to be held after on the premises. Interment will be at Norton Cemetery, Cushing. A full obituary will be forthcoming. Arrangements are entrusted to Hall & Bibber Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 78 Main St., Thomaston.
