OLD ORCHARD BEACH Teresa M. Steller, 56, of School Street, died Monday June 28, 2004, after a sudden illness. She was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Tacoma Park, Md., a daughter of Francis and Joanne Irwin McKean and was educated at the University of Maryland. Teresa taught English at Machias High School for 12 years. Following her teaching career she moved to Old Orchard Beach, and married Robert Steller on Aug. 2, 1986. After starting a career in real estate, she became a successful entrepreneur, opening Sandcastle Realty in 1993, and two “Curves for Women” franchises in Washington County in 2004. Teresa was a member of the National and Maine Associations of Realtors and a member of the board of directors at the Milestone Foundation. She loved traveling with her husband, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her friends, and touched many lives. She loved life. Surviving are her husband of 17 years, Robert Steller of Old Orchard Beach; one daughter, Tracy Plante of Old Orchard Beach; one son, Travis Fickett of Los Angeles, Calif.; one stepson, Matthew Steller of Old Orchard Beach; her father, Francis McKean of Machias; one sister, Peggy Nesmith of Florida; one son-in-law, Dean Plante of Old Orchard Beach; one daughter-in-law, Kathleen Walker of Los Angeles, Calif.; three granddaughters, Haley, Brianna, and Shani Plante of Old Orchard Beach; one niece, Devon Reidy of Florida. Services were held previously. Arrangements were by Cathedral Pines Funeral Home, 156 Saco Ave., Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064.
