MEDINA, Texas and CARMEL – Terry Armstrong’s life ended Nov. 9, 2005, at Siesta Valley Ranch, his home in the Texas Hill Country. He suffered with Parkinson’s Disease for many years. He was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Bangor, and grew up in Carmel, where he graduated from Carmel High School in 1956. Terry began his life-long work making shoes in factories in Maine. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas, in 1973. He co-founded SAS in 1976 and built an outstanding company that many people are proud to call home. Terry loved being on his ranch with the chickens, horses, cattle and his beloved dog, Smokey. He was a man of great curiosity, engaged in life with a relentless passion for excellence. His grandchildren all attend Saint Mary’s Hall. Their endeavors brought him much pride and joy. He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Regina, who he had come to know, love, respect and admire. They had three children, Cheryl Remmert and her husband, Travy, and their children, Tyler, Chloe and Audrey, Lisa Armstrong and her children, Emily and Austin, Brian Armstrong, who passed away two years ago, leaving his wife, Julia and their children, Sean and Calista; and numerous extended family. He was predeceased by his mother, Lewene Armstrong. Terry will be taken home to Carmel for a family graveside service where he will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery.
