ELLSWORTH – Thaddeus “Ted” Pinkham Wescott, 81, died April 3, 2006, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born May 25, 1924, in Ellsworth, the son of Sterling B. and Virginia S. (Pinkham) Wescott. Ted was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He also entered the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He worked at JJ Newberry for 30 years. Ted had been to fashion school for dress making and pattern drafting. He later ran his own tailor shop. He is survived by a son, Mark A. Wescott; a daughter, Gena M. Alvarez; two sisters, Mary E. Giles and Josephine E. “Jo” Warren; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Priscilla “Pat” J. Jordan. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth.
