EASTPORT – Themla E. Stuller, 81, died Aug. 21, 2004, at a Machias hospital following a long illness. She was born in Amesbury, Mass., June 12, 1923, the daughter of Daniel and Hilda (Lyons) Sweeney. She worked in the Eastport area sardine factories. She was a member of the Newburyport Mass Racquet Club. She is survived by a son, Ellery Townsend, of Eastport; two daughters, Diane Seeley of Baileyville, and Laurie Townsend of Shelburne, Vt.; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Fowler, of Newburyport, Mass.; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the Flagg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, interment in Bayside Cemetery, Eastport.
