BANGOR – Theresa E. (Simpson) Leonard, 85, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Bangor, the daughter of Thomas and Barbara (Pouler) Simpson. Theresa was involved in many local organizations, including Hampden Garden Club, Gift Makers Club and Girl Scouts. She had a passion for drawing and loved traveling with her husband. She is remembered for her strong Catholic faith and always putting others before herself. She is survived by her son, Charles and his wife, Karen Leonard, of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter, Judy and her husband, Don Chase, of Bangor; two sisters-in-law that were like sisters, Rose Narski and Janette Witham; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Laura Leonard. She was predeceased by her husband, Elwell. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at St. John’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, celebrant and Catholic chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital. The family would appreciate you honoring their wishes that no gifts of remembrance or flowers be sent.
