ALLAGASH – Theresa (Hughes) Kelly, 86, died peacefully March 9, 2004, at her residence in Allagash. She was born March 10, 1917, in Allagash, the daughter of Thomas and Delia (Jackson) Hughes. Theresa’s favorite past-times were knitting, crocheting, gardening and cooking for her family especially her molasses cookies. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Leonard, Douglas, and Edward Kelly, all of Allagash; six daughters, Barbara McBreairty, Helen McBreairty, Carolyn Gardner and Kathy Jackson, all of Allagash, Beulah Gardner of Bangor, and Sharon Cuzack of Blackstone, Mass.; three sisters, Rose Barnes, Beulah Roix, and Lena English, all of Presque Isle; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to both her parents, she is also predeceased by her husband, Guy Kelly Sr. In 1994; two sisters, Doris Kelly and Ellen Walker; and one brother, Hampton Hughes. Friends may call at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, in Fort Kent, Friday 5-9 p.m. and 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of departure for Allagash. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Allagash with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating.
