INDIAN ISLAND – Theresa N. (Sapiel) Bartlett, 61, passed away April 27, 2008, at her residence. She was born May 25, 1946, on Indian Island, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Ranco) Sapiel. Theresa was employed by Indian Island Department of Human Services for many years and was also a housing commissioner for the housing authority on Indian Island. Theresa enjoyed playing cards, especially poker which she was very good at, and an occasional Bingo game. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at summer cookouts and Christmas was a favorite time of the year for gathering with her family. She is survived by her husband, John L. Bartlett of Indian Island; five children, Scott J. Sapiel of Bangor, Shawn L. Snell of Indian Island, Steven L. Snell and his girlfriend, Beth Tomer, of Indian Island, Shel-don L. Snell of Indian Island and Shannon L. Snell of Indian Island; one brother, David J. Sapiel Sr. and his wife, Sue, of Indian Island; by her grandchildren, Brandon and Joe Rob-bins, Tasheena Sapiel, Felicia Snell and Sarah Mae Snell; her niece, Krystal Sapiel; and nephews, William “David” Fitt and his wife, Michelle, Troy Fitt and his wife, Melanie, Christopher Sapiel, David Sapiel Jr. and his wife, Maranda, and Marccus Sapiel; she will also be missed by several cousins and friends; as well as her home health care worker, Penny; and two very special friends, Sharon Sapiel and Barbara Jean Francis. Theresa was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Mary (Ran-co) Sapiel; a brother, Nicholas H. Sapiel; a sister, Hope (Sapiel) Fitt; a granddaughter, Kaneesha Snell; and a nephew, Nicholas H. Sapiel Jr. Visiting hours will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Indian Island; where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, with Father Bill Labbe officiating.
