THOMAS ‘TOMMY’ EDWIN NICKERSON HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. Thomas “Tommy” Edwin Nickerson spent his last day on this Earth surround-ed by the love and laughter of his daughters. Tom was born Jan. 15, 1938, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, to Frank and Alice Nickerson, and raised in Machias. From 1955 to 1959, he ser-ved his country aboard the USS Rochester. He spent the majority of his life in the Sacramento, Calif., area. He found his way to Hendersonville, Tenn., to spend time with some of his daughters. He passed away Sept. 2, 2008. He will be greatly missed by his five daughters, Kelly J. Wal-ton of Sacramento, Calif., Sandra L. Cowan of Cottontown, Tenn., Deanna F. Nickerson of Hendersonville, Tenn., Laurie A. Nickerson of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Kristine E. Bertsch of El Dorado Hills, Calif. He was predeceased by his wife, LaVerne Nickerson. He is survived by his sisters, Brenda Ackley and Mary Chavez; brothers-in-law, George Ackley and Andy Chavez; his grandchildren, Heather Hartwich, Kristin Walton, Melanie Martin, Trevor Martin, Jordan Kielty, T.J. Cowan, Hannah Cowan, Taylor Kielty, Bella Bertsch and Jagger Bertsch. Pappa will be very missed.
