LAGRANGE – Thornton John Costigan Sr., 85, died Sept. 24, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare cen-ter. He was born April 1, 1919, in Milford, the son of Harry and Bessy (Maden) Costigan. Mr. Costigan was self-employed as a carpenter for many years and had worked at several factories in Old Town. He was a member of the Old Town American Legion Post No. 75. Mr. Costigan enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He will be greatly missed by many close friends. Surviving are three children, Janice Carey, John Costigan and David Costigan; five grandchildren, Tina Dorr, Michael Mitchell, Roger Mitchell, Kathy Hatch and Laurina Gross; great-grand-children; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his special companions, Dorothy McCann and Leita Costigan; two brothers and two sisters. Services will be private. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the Maine Veterans’ Home, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor. Arrangements by Brookings-Smith, Old Town Chapel, 205 Main St., Old Town.
