FALMOUTH, Mass. – Timothy Paul Devine, 62, formerly of Canton, Mass., died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 5, 2006. Tim was born Feb. 3, 1944, in Melrose, Mass., the son of Paul Norman Devine and Marjorie (Nickerson) Devine. Tim was a graduate of North Reading High School, attended Wentworth Institute and served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. Tim worked as a self-employed carpenter, and served many people in the South Shore and Cape Cod areas. Tim will always be remembered by his family and friends for always being there whenever anyone was in a crisis, to lend a helping hand and to make a situation less difficult. Tim had a great sense of humor and would make everyone smile who came his way. He had a great passion for people and animals, and would not hesitate to shingle an elderly person’s roof or build a shelter for a stray cat. Along with this family and friends, Tim will be sadly missed by his feline friends and especially by his cat, Hathaway. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, William Devine; sister, Mary Carroll. Surviving is a daughter, Kimberly McCabe and her husband, Matt, of Conway, N.H.; one brother, Dr. Stephen Devine and his wife, Deborah, of LaCrosse, Wis.; three sisters, Janis Devine and her companion, Trever Charters, of Newport, Catherine Devine and her husband, James, of Atkinson, N.H. and Patricia Nickels and her husband, William, of Bar Harbor; his loving companion of many years, Dorothy Price of Falmouth, Mass.; a special aunt, Betty O’Connor of Augusta; three cousins, John, Steve and Tom O’Connor; a sister-in-law, Marion Devine of Tinton Falls, N.J.; several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visiting hours or funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alley Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 585, Mount Rainier, MD 20712.
