LAKE WORTH, Fla. and VAN BUREN – Tommy Ouellette, 62, died Jan. 14, 2005 at his home in Lake Worth. He was born in Van Buren, Nov. 19, 1942, the son of Ludger and Anne (Ouellette) Ouellette. Tom attended local schools and was a 1960 graduate of Van Buren Boys High School. He was an Army veteran, stationed at Fort Irwin, Calif. and was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 49 of Van Buren. Upon returning to Cyr Plantation he was self-employed as a Maine potato and grain grower. He served on Maine Potato Council and was a member of Agway and the National Potato Council. He was a member and former Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1635, and the Fourth Degree Assembly 0349 of Van Buren. Tom served as first selectman for Cyr Plantation. His passion was family, his grandkids and friends. He was an avid pilot and also enjoyed playing cards and RV traveling. He, his wife and three daughters relocated to Lake Worth, Fla. in 1980, where he was superintendent of Indian Creek Golf Course in Jupiter, Fla. for 10 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Lydia (Lapierre) Ouellette of Lake Worth; three daughters, Sherry Harris and husband, Glenn of Royal Palm Beach, Fla., Kim Liddell and husband, Dennis of Lake Worth, Fla., Tricia Ouellette-Meyer and husband, Gregory of North Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan Harris, Ashley and Hunter Liddell, his mother, Anne Ouellette of Van Buren; one sister, Maxine Charette and husband, Gerald of Quechee, Vt.; one brother, James Ouellette and wife, Renee of Sebring, Fla. He was predeceased by his father, Ludger Ouellette; one brother, Ronald Ouellette and one sister, Marcella Scribner. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, from 9 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, June 11. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery.
