HANCOCK – Travis L. Thompson, 71, went home to be with the Lord Feb. 7, 2007, at an Ellsworth hos-pital. He was born Oct. 1, 1935, in Machias, the son of Carl L. and Orena (Huntley) Thompson. Travis graduated from Washington Academy High School, Machias. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1958 to 1963. After the service he worked as an auto mechanic in Mystic, Conn. He moved back to Bucks Harbor in the late 1970s and was semi-retired. He then got involved in fishing and enjoyed clamming. Travis was a past member of the Sullivan Harbor Baptist Church, where he had served as treasurer. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Carol; daughter, Kathy Lynn Reynolds and husband, Robert, of Gorham; stepsons, Craig Kenny and fiancee, Dina, of Wolcott, Conn., Scott Kenny and wife, Katie, of Limerick; grandchildren, Justin and Lelyned Bowley, James and Courtney Kenny and Brady Kenny. He was predeceased by his parents; and stepmother, Lillian Spencer Thompson. Services will be announced by the family in the spring.
