HERMON – Velma G. Davis, 70, died unexpectedly Feb. 14, 2008, at her home. She was born Nov. 2, 1937, in Old Town, the daughter of Clyde C. and Anna E. (Smith) Davis. Velma graduated from Old Town High School and Beal College, and worked for Brewer Savings Bank for 13 years. She also worked many years for Standard Shoe and had been a resident of Hermon for 30 years. Surviving are one sister, Marvette Davis of Milford; one brother, Orman Davis and his wife, Lorraine, of Orrington; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and two sisters, Constance Davis and Virginia Dickerson. A private burial will be held at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town, later in the spring.
