CRYSTAL – Vernon Leroy Anderson Sr., 79, of Crystal, died peacefully after hours of laughter, tears and stories Oct. 2, 2004, surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his sisters, Violette Ouellette of Bath, and Lilla McFarland of Houlton; also by his son, Vernon “Andy” Anderson Jr., and his wife, Becky of Crystal. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Anderson, Chris Glidden, Michael Detour, Courtney Heath, Mandy Joubert, Karen, Kevin and David McGraw, and Beth Somers; he is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Margaret Jane Prescott; also by his children, Eric, Susan, Linda, and Sheila; along with his brother, Ivan Anderson. Tom Chandler officiating. Interment will be in the Crystal cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it would be greatly appreciated for those who would like, to donate to the Outreach Ministry of the Crystal Wesleyan Church, Winding Hill Road, Crystal, which provides care packages for the elderly, needy and shut-ins during the holiday seasons. Vern was a beneficiary of their services and was very thankful for them. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
