GRAND ISLE – Vi Corbin, 78, found everlasting peace April 1, 2007, at a Madawaska nursing home. She was born Dec. 11, 1928, in Grand Isle, the daughter of Clovis and Annie (Beaulieu) Carrier. She had been a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Daughters of Isabella. Vi will best be remembered for her outstanding domestic qualities of cooking and blanket-making. She is survived by five daughters, Cecile (Cyr) Kauffman and her husband, Blake, of Connecticut, Dorothy (Cyr) Roy and her husband, Daniel, of Grand Isle, Therese (Corbin) Doty and her husband, Les, of Connecticut, Joan Corbin of Connecticut and Jude Corbin and her companion, Jack, of St. Agatha; three sons, Rolland Carrier and his wife, Sandra, of Frenchville, Paul Corbin of Madawaska and Dave Corbin of Grand Isle; four sisters, Therese Roberge of Florida, Rejeanne Ross of Connecticut, Jeanine Daigle and Laurette Lavertu, both of St. David; three brothers, Edgar Carrier of Florida, Reno Carrier of Connecticut and Leo James Carrier of Grand Isle; 15 grandchildren, Scott, Joel, Jodi, Kevin, Greg, Derek, Stacy, Sharon, Lori, Kelli, Adam, Heather, Jaimie, Jesse and Dylan; six great-grand-children, Brandon, Martina, Tysen, Kayla, Emily and Haley. She was predeceased by her husband, Cyr Corbin; one son, James “Jim” Cyr; two brothers, Gerald “Bea” and Donald “Gacon” Carrier; and by one sister, Rina. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday until time of services at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Gerard Cemetery later in the spring.
