BREWER – Vicenta O. Hanscom, 82, wife of the late Gilbert F. Hanscom, died Sept. 12, 2005, at home. She was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Summit, N.J., the daughter of Anacleto and Alice (Fifield) Orsini. Vicenta was raised in South Brewer by her maternal grandmother, Cecelia A. Fifield. She is survived by her four children, Roger G. Hanscom of Bangor, Thomas A. Hanscom and his wife, Gail, of Rio Rancho, N.M., Edward W. Hanscom and his wife, Valerie, of Gardiner, Barbara H. and her husband, Robert C. Mitchell, of Scarborough; four grandchildren, Alexander G. Hanscom, Kenneth A. Hanscom, Gregory J. Hanscom, all of Gardiner, and Rebecca J. Mitchell of Scarborough. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Anacleto T. “Jay” Orsini, Jr. Private funeral services will be held Friday at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Scott Cleveland, pastor of the Second Congregational Church, Brewer, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Rest Cemetery, Amherst.
