BREWER – Villa Eloise Richards, 94, wife of the late Fred C. Richards, formerly of Greenville, Howland, and a resident of Brewer since 1975, died Aug. 10, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare center. She was born Oct. 16, 1910, in Passadumkeag, the daughter of William G. and Mabelle (Webster) Squiers. The family relocated to Greenville in 1919. Villa was very active in the Greenville Congregational Church and served as choir director for many years. Prior to moving to Brewer, she was a member of the Howland Ecumenical Singers and is a member of the East Orrington Congregational Church. Surviving are her only child, Frederick N. “Rick” Richards of Orrington; three grandchildren, Glenn Richards and his wife, Laurie, of Glenburn, Jon Richards of Bangor, and Mikel Richards and his wife, Jean, of Holden, who were lovingly dedicated to the family beyond description; a granddaughter-in-law, Judy, wife of the late, Frederick “Ricky” Jr., a very cherished member of the family; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Villa was one of four siblings and was predeceased by two brothers, Norman Squiers and W. Carlton Squiers; and a sister, Thelma Squiers. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, Clark Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Adam Soderberg, pastor of the East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of service Monday. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, Brewer, immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Village Cemetery, Edinburg.
