LUBEC – Vincent M. Parker, 59, died Nov. 18, 2003, at his residence in Washington D.C., following a long illness. Born April 11, 1944, in Acushnet, Mass., he was the son of William and Kathelene (McWilliams) Parker. He was a graduate of Lubec High School, Class of 1961, and the University of Maine at Machias, Class of 1967. Vincent was an Army Veteran serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church of Washington D.C. He was employed for many years by the Washington Post. Vincent was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Vernon Parker, in 1950; and his father, William Parker, in 1972. Surviving are his mother, Kathelene (McWilliams) Parker of Lubec; one brother, William Jr. of Lubec; two sisters, Catherine Hersey of Brunswick, and Ellen Woodworth of Pembroke, Mass.; three nephews, and several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Lubec, with the Rev. Michael Sheridan celebrant. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until time of the Mass. Burial with full military honors will be at the Olson Cemetery, Lubec. Following burial relatives and friends will gather at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Funeral arrangements are by the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais.
