FORT FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Viola M. Osborne, 79, wife of the late Frederick W. Osborne II, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 20, 2004, at a Mars Hill nursing facility after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 17, 1924, at Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Frank J. and Mary (Bois) Ramo. She graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1942, and was married to Frederick W. Osborne II on Jan. 20, 1947. Viola was a communicant of the St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, and was employed many years by the Frontier Trust Co., Fort Fairfield, and the Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle branches of the Casco Northern Bank. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Osborne was predeceased by her husband on Feb. 23, 2000; two sons, Loomis Richard Osborne in October of 1986, and Frederick W. Osborne III in April of 1996; four brothers, Stephen, F. Herbert, Roy and Wilfred Ramo; one sister, Isabelle Green. She is survived by one brother, Harold E. Ramo of Wallingford, Conn.; one sister, Pearl Alexander of Salisbury, S.C.; one grandson, Shane Osborne of Washington, D.C.; several nieces and nephews. A graveside committal service will be conducted at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, later in the spring. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Viola to the charity or organization of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
