BANGOR and MEDWAY – Viola R. Stanley, 87, wife of the late Leon A. Stanley, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 19, 1916, in East Millinocket, the daughter of Pietro and Effie (Mercier) Cesare. Viola was a long time resident of Medway where she was a member of the Medway Grange. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed going to the local basketball games. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Rhoda Stanley of Milford; two grandchildren, Melanie Worster and Troy Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Justin Worster, Brittany Johnson, and Lindsay Johnson; two brothers, Arnold Cesare of Cleveland, Miss. and Peter L. Cesare of Norcross; one sister, Louise Ginn of Bucksport; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at the funeral home with The Rev. Mark Pilletere officiating. Spring burial will be in East Millinocket Cemetery.
