NEW MILFORD, Conn. – Violet Marie (Hurlbert) Bryant, 75, passed away Nov. 22, 2006, in New Milford, Conn. She was born May 22, 1931, in Whitneyville, the daughter of the late Willie C. and Geneva M. (Caler) Whittle. Violet had lived in New Milford, Conn., for the past five years. Prior to moving to Connecticut, she had lived for many years in Machias and Jonesport. Marie was predeceased by her husband, George Bryant; a daughter, Evelyn Mansuelo; and a brother, Waldo Hurlbert. She is survived by her sons, George Bryant and his wife, Donna, of Loris, S.C., Roger Bryant and wife, Phile Dana, of Machias and Michael Bryant and wife, Dixie, of Amenia, N.Y.; sisters, Flora Barrett of Jonesport and Edith Doucott of Salem, N.H.; brother, Ray Hurlbert, of Cherryfield; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will take place 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Burial will take place after the service at Centerville Cemetery. www.bragdonkelley.com
