CARIBOU – Violet Mary Adams, 84, wife of the late Herbert M. Adams, died March 31, 2006, at a Caribou healthcare facility following a brief illness with cancer. She was born April 21, 1921, at Allagash, the daughter of Richard and Naomi Walker. Violet and her husband owned and operated Adam’s Van and Storage in Caribou for many years. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church. Violet was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family and had a great love for her family. She was a gifted knitter and crocheter and was an avid bowler. She is survived by three sons, Joseph Walker and his wife, Colleen, of Massachusetts, Stanley Walker and his wife, Wendy, of Connecticut and Marshall Adams and his wife, Mary, of Caribou; one daughter, Vera Brown of Caribou; two sisters, Lula Hughes of Brunswick and Virginia Dyer of Presque Isle; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, including a very special great-great-grandson, Tyler; several nieces and nephews. Violet will be missed by a very special friend, Phyllis Dubois. She was predeceased by three brothers, Conrad Arnold and William Walker; and four sisters, Annie Jackson, Albertine Thibodeau, Novella Doody and Mae Strickland. Friends may call noon until time of services, Tuesday, April 4, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, with the Pastor Max Soucia, officiating. Spring interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
