MILO and DOVER-FOXCROFT – Virginia Marie (Taylor) Elder, 85, died April 19, 2005, at a local nursing home after a long illness. She was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Keith H. and Ella (Sturtevant) Taylor. She was a graduate of Hallowell High School, and a long time resident of Dover-Foxcroft. She worked most of her adult life as a domestic care-giver. She was a past member of Order of the Eastern Star and over the years had volunteered for many organizations. She is survived by a son, James S. and his wife, Marcia Elder, of Windham; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Ruth Tyler Manchester, of Windham. She was predeceased by her step-mother, Mildred Penley Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2005, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Pastor David Mumford, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Dover Cemetery.
