NEWPORT – Vutes Pauline (Stotelmyer) McFarland, 90, died Aug. 30, 2005, at a Waterville hospital. She was born Jan. 21, 1915, at Frederick, Md., a daughter of James and Clara (Mull) Stotelmyer. On Dec. 25, 1934, she married the late, Leamon “Lee” McFarland. Vutes was an artist and was well-known for her series of “Mice” cards. She attended the Clinton Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Helen Lewis of Newport, and Linda Raven of Clinton; a son, LeRoy Leamon McFarland, of Onawa; two nephews, Lyndy Bradstreet of Hartland, and Gene Page of Lincoln; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2 at the Clinton Baptist Church, with Pastor Robert Philbrick officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Townhouse Hill Cemetery, Clinton. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport.
