DOVER-FOXCROFT – W. Ward Webber, 86, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Oct. 3, 2004, at a local nursing home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Friendship, the fourth child of Reverend Edward J. and Georgianna Tamlyn (Wesley) Webber. Ward attended Foxcroft Academy, graduated from Mount Hermon, and attended Colby College. He was involved in many business ventures and activities around the state of Maine. Ward, who was affectionately called “Wardie”, enjoyed spending time with his family and relaxing at his camp on Sebec Lake. Ward was predeceased by his brothers, Dr. L. Dean Webber, Dr. E. Paul Webber; and his sister, Marguerite Jones. He is survived by Margaret Sanborn Webber, his wife of sixty-four years; his daughters, Dianne W. LaPointe and her husband, Larry, of Bangor, and Mary W. Frederick and her husband, Tom, of Dover-Foxcroft. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jason W. Frederick of Bangor, Tamlyn M. Frederick of Dover-Foxcroft, Nicole LaPointe of Bangor, and Lori Sargent and her husband, Herbert, of Hampden; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and James Sargent. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Neil Gastonguay officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Dover Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to either the United Methodist Church, P.O.
