CARMEL – Walter Bonder, 84, died April 11, 2004, at his home in Carmel. He was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Lynn, Mass., son of Joseph and Mary Onaska. Walter was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was employed as a mechanic at the Beacon Motor Co. of Bangor for many years. Surviving are his wife, Helen C. (St. Louis) Bonder of Carmel; one stepson, Reginald E. Strout and his wife, Sandi, of Cumberland; three stepgrandchildren, Reginald III, Michelle and Scott; three step-great-grandchildren, Shae, Joshua and Sidney. Private interment will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Carmel. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
