ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Warren “Pete” Nadeau, 81, passed away Jan. 14, 2008, at a Florida hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Bradley, the youngest child of Desir’ and Margaret (Watson) Nadeau. Pete was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946, after serving in the Construction Battalion during World War II. A resident of Old Town, Pete worked for the University of Maine at Orono, as a facilities management supervisor until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed spending much of his time hunting, fishing and watching sports. Pete is survived by a son, Glenn Nadeau of Old Town; a daughter, Nancy Swett and her husband, Paul, of Old Town; grandchildren, Lauren Swett of South Portland and Michael Swett of Old Town; and a brother, Arnold Nadeau of Ryerwood, Wash. In his later years, Pete enjoyed the companionship of Helen Brasslett and her children, Judy, Gordon, Tony, and Raylan and his wife, Ruthena, of Glenburn; as well as many friends and relatives from Presque Isle to Zephyrhills, Fla. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Dorothy (Homsted) Nadeau; and a son, Peter Nadeau. A funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Zephyrhills, Fla. Final interment will be in the spring at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pete’s memory may be made to Friends of Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, P.O.
