ELLSWORTH – Wayne R. Wadman, 67, of Ellsworth, passed away unexpectedly at his home May 1, 2004. He was born Aug. 10, 1936, in Brownville Junction, the son of William and Mary (MacDonald) Wadman. Wayne taught school for more than 23 years, where he taught business classes and also served as the director of the Cooperative Education program during part of that time. He has served as a volunteer at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. Wayne has been very instrumental in raising funds for the improvements on the Del Luce Stadium at the Ellsworth High School. Like most grandfathers, he was a wonderful supporter of his grandchildren in school and community activities. He would never miss a chance to baby-sit as the need arose. Wayne is survived by two sons, Joseph Wadman and James Wadman and wife, Kim, of Ellsworth; three daughters, Janet and husband, Harald Huebner, of Lamoine, Jennifer and husband, Andrew Myers, of Ellsworth, and Jackie and husband, Jay Carroll, of Southwest Harbor; three sisters, Blanche Wadman, Honorene Richardson of Brownville Junction, and Ila Dean of Barnard; eight grandchildren, Robbie, Gabrielle, Holly, Daniel, Mackenzie, Whitney, Hannah and Jimmy. He will be missed greatly by good friend and neighbor, Harold Ingalls. He was predeceased by two brothers; and three sisters. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. A memorial Mass will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Interment will be held in the Pine Tree Cemetery in Brownville Junction at a later date. The family suggests that those who wish may make contributions in Wayne’s memory to the Ellsworth Superintendent of Schools for improvements on the Del Luce Stadium, or to the Cardiac Rehab Department at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.
