HANCOCK – Wendy Sue (Young) Brown, 39, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007. She was born Oct. 23, 1967, in Bangor. She was the beloved daughter of Ivan G. and Carol A. (Walls) Young of Franklin. Wendy was a graduate of Sumner High School and went on to attend Husson College. She was a dedicated employee of 19-plus years at Holmes Agency, Ellsworth; and was, at the time of her death, working towards a degree in business management. She also worked at Holiday Inn, Ellsworth, as a night auditor and at Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound helping her husband and crew. Wendy enjoyed motorcycling, lobster deliveries with her husband, traveling to Loudon to watch NASCAR, and spending time with her family and friends. Wendy was an avid lighthouse collector and her hobbies included ceramics, shopping and cooking for large groups of people. She was a loving mother and is survived by her son, Michael Holmes, 17, of Hancock; stepdaughters, Michelle Brown, 24, of Morrisville, N.C., and Amy Brown, 15, of Hancock. She was a cherished wife of 10 years to Scott Brown, they resided in Hancock. She is also survived by her father and mother, Ivan and Carol (Walls) Young of Franklin; brothers, Gordon Young and wife, Lori, of Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, Richard Young and wife, Cate, of Ellsworth and Royce Young and wife, Kristina, of Newburgh; brother-in-law, Alan Brown and wife, Stacie, of Hancock; sister-in-law, Cindy Crowley and husband, Bruce, of Corea; stepmother, Patty Sprague of Hancock; uncles, Arthur Young of Newburgh, Wayne Walls and wife, Judy, of Bangor, Robert Walls and wife, Marie, of Glenburn; aunt, Myrtle Ellingwood of Hampden; four nieces, six nephews, two goddaughters, several cousins; and two very special friends, Dale and Lisa Clements of Jacksonville, N.C. Wendy had a warm heart, a lending hand, addictive personality and will truly be missed by all. Calling hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, with Pastor Michael Page officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Hancock.
