WOODLAND – Wesley B. Thomas, 93, died May 26, 2006, at his Woodland residence. He was born May 3, 1913, in Woodland, the son of William H. and Edith M. (Washburn) Thomas. He was educated in the Woodland and Caribou school systems. He was a self-employed farmer in the local area for many years and was also employed at the Woodland Consolidated School, as a bus driver and custodian for several years until his retirement. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Wesley married Dora E. (Burby) Thomas Aug. 24, 1941. He was a loving and devoted husband and father to his family. Surviving in addition to his wife of 64 years, Dora of Woodland; are two sons, William Henry Thomas and Stephen John Thomas, both of Woodland; one daughter, Virginia Ann “Ginny” Donovan of Woodland; six grandchildren, Norma Levesque and her husband, Terry, of Presque Isle, Adam Thomas of Woodland, Jeremy Thomas of Brussels, Belgin, Isaac Thomas of Florida, Brian Donovan and his wife, Nichole, of New Hampshire and Heather Thomas and her fiance, Ryan Mann, of Winslow; three great-grandchildren, Trevor, Tyler and Torey Levesque, all of Presque Isle; a sister-in-law, Ginny Harmon of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Wesley will be missed by very special friends, Bill and Sue Anthony of Bridgewater. He was predeceased by three sons, Albert Wesley, Galen Charles and Paul Frederick Thomas; a daughter, Natalie Jean Thomas; two brothers, Edwin A. and Henry F. Thomas; a sister, Alice Blackstone; and by a son-in-law, Tom Donovan. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Fr. David Raymond officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
