DYER BROOK and EAST MILLINOCKET – Willard E. “Bill” Brannen, 59, husband of the late Linda (Zolin) Brannen who died in 2001, died unexpectedly at Dyer Brook Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005. He was born March 16, 1946, in Oakfield, the son of Leon and Hazel (Springer) Brannen. Bill was a graduate of Oakfield High School. For a short time after high school, Bill worked for the B&A Railroad, however, most of his working career was spent working as a law enforcement official. Bill worked in law enforcement in Island Falls and later took the position of Chief of Police for the Town of Medway. He then accepted a position with the East Millinocket Police Department where he would honorably serve his community for 28 years retiring as Sergeant in 2002. After his retirement, Bill worked as a gate keeper at Telos. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the AARP. He was a well- known hunter, trapper, fisherman and rifle marksman. Bill enjoyed his camp at Dyer Brook and was in the process of remodeling it at the time of his death. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Brannen and her companion, Tom McDunnah, of East Millinocket; his son, Bill Brannen and his companion, Missy Malone, of Millinocket; a son, Thomas Brannen, of Indiana; three grandchildren; two brothers, Keith and wife, Ber-nadine Brannen, of Island Falls and Kilburn Brannen and companion, Danielle, of Oakfield. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at St Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in East Millinocket Cemetery.
