BANGOR and BREWER – William A. “Billy” Tardiff, 72, died Jan. 1, 2006, at the home of his loving daughter, Suzi in Bradley. He was born July 30, 1933, in Brewer, the son of Edmund F. and Harriet (Witham) Tardiff. Billy attended school in Brewer and served in the U.S. Navy. He loved to fish with his brother, Fred, and his son, Mark and enjoyed playing cribbage. As Bill’s health declined, he lived with his daughter for many years, where they cared for him until his death on Sunday. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his daughter, Suzi Mitchell and her husband, Dennis, of Bradley; his son, Mark Tardiff and his wife, Emelda, of Windham; and his daughter, Pam Tardiff of Florida; three stepchildren, Brenda, Barbara and Kelly; one brother, Frederick Tardiff and his wife, Jane, of Frankfort; one sister, Eleanor J. Buchanan and her husband, Pearl, of Holden; six grandchildren; a special grandson, Cyrus Winingar, Vincent, Alex, Olivia, Jovez and Eliana Tardiff; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his former wife, Joanne Tardiff; a granddaughter, Monique Elizabeth; one brother, Edmund “Chummy” F. Tardiff Jr.; and three sisters, Barbara L. Chapman, Nola M. Tardiff and Elaine R. Swanson. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A private graveside service will be held at Silver Lake Cemetery, Bucksport in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern Maine, care of Eastern Maine Charities, P.O. Box 404, Bangor, ME 04402-0404.
