PENSACOLA, Fla. – William “Bill” Caruso, 86, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008. He was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Bangor. He came from a family of 12 siblings, and was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Caruso; son, James Caruso of Helotes, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth Werner of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepdaughter, Karen Miller of Pensacola, Fla.; stepsons, Carl Goggins of Holden, Brian Goggins of Levant and Jeffrey Goggin of Gulfport, Miss.; brothers, Richard Caruso of Pensacola, Fla., and John Caruso of Brewer; sisters, Jeanette Perry of Brewer, Lillie Ciminera of Waterbury, Conn., Theresa Griebler of Hasting, Minn., and Marlene Sonderman of Prospect, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 1:15 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Barrancas National Cemetery. Oak Lawn Funeral Home, Pensacola, Fla., is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1040 Woodcock Road, Suite 119, Orlando, FL 32803, in memory of William Caruso with acknowledgment sent to Rosalie Caruso, his wife. He is loved and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
