HAMPDEN – William “Bill” Wolever, 80, died Nov. 12, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Muskogee, Okla., the son of Mark and Margaret (Blakley) Wolever. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Capitol Electric Company, and later owned and ran his own electrical contracting business, Owl Electric Company in San Diego, Calif. until his retirement in 1986. Bill was a charter member of the San Diego Outboard Motor Club, member of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, past president and board member of the San Diego Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association, past president of the executives association of San Diego, more than 50-year member International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, board of directors of the San Diego Y.M.C.A., and a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Silver Gate-Three Star Masonic Lodge No. 296 AF & AM. His interests included boating, fishing, flying, camping, off-road racing, and people. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marguerite D. Wolever of Hampden; two nephews, Dr. John Sadler and his family, and Bob Sadler; niece, Phyllis Jane Ragsdale and her family. A service of remembrance will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Adam Soderberg, pastor of the East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at 3 p.m. at Maggie’s home, 100 Heather Way, Hampden, following the service.
