MILLINOCKET – William Cur-tis “Bill” Kenyon Jr., 78, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at home. He was born July 20, 1929, in Millinocket. Bill attended schools in Orono, graduating in 1948. There he played and lettered in football, baseball, basketball and track. He was a member of the “O” Club and the National Honor Society. Bill enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1948, serving four years, which included one year in Korea, where he was in the Airwing in Close Support attached to the First Marine Division, operating the radar and computer. Bill was a lifetime member of Francis Elliot Post No. 4154, VFW, Millinocket. He worked for 40 years for Great Northern Paper Co., and Bowater as a beater engineer and day foreman. Bill was dearly loved by his family, giving a strong sense of stability and security to all. He will be missed by all who knew and associated with him. His greatest pleasure was enjoying his camp, wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and hunting and fishing with his sons, whom he treasured. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irene (Rosebush) Kenyon of Millinocket; three sons, William C. Kenyon III of Citrus Heights, Calif., Steven Kenyon and his wife, Diana, and Christopher Kenyon and his wife, Robin, all of Millinocket; nine grandchildren, Ryan Kenyon, Sandy Brooker and her husband, Paul, Kelly Piskator and her husband, Jason, Susan Kenyon, William “Mike” Kenyon IV, Tracey Kenyon, Cole Kenyon, Katie Kenyon and Kasey Kenyon; five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Pankow, Isabella and Ava Piskator and Brady Brooker; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, William Kenyon Sr. and Ida (Bouchard) Kenyon; and an infant brother, James Kenyon. At Bill’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket.
