MADAWASKA and PRINCETON – William Dexter Edgerly, 53, passed away peacefully Aug. 11, 2007, at a Fort Kent health care facility, after a battle with lung cancer. William, known to his family and friends as “Bill,” was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Achusnet, Mass. Bill moved to Maine with his family at a young age. He lived and worked in Princeton most of his life and then moved to Madawaska in September 2001. Bill is survived by his partner, Lisa M. Daigle of Madawaska; his two sons, William Edgerly Jr. and James Edgerly, both of Lincoln; their mother, Sally Merrill of Lincoln; his mother, Dorothy Cummings of Pembroke; two sisters, Helen Coon of Pembroke and Cheryl Steeves and her husband, Michael, of Danforth; two brothers, Earl Edgerly Jr. and his wife, Rita, of Lagrange and Wayne Edgerly of East Machias; two nieces, Kari and Amy; five nephews, Paul, Adam, Donald, David and Matthew; two great-nieces; one aunt, Kay and her husband, James Greenlaw, of Bailyville; and one uncle, Frank Edgerly and his wife, Grace, of Bailyville. Bill was predeceased by his father, Earl Edgerly Sr.; and his uncle, Edward Edgerly. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, in Princeton. At Bill’s request, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Aroostook Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 332, Madawaska, ME 04756. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daigle Funeral Home, Madawaska.
