BANGOR – William E. Jordan Jr., 83, husband of Helen E. (Violette) Jordan, died March 4, 2004, at a Brewer healthcare center. He was born Feb. 6, 1921 in Brewer, the son of William E. and Clara (Getchell) Jordan. William was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a master automobile mechanic for 65 years. Surviving in addition to his wife of 35 years of Bangor, are four children, Douglas Jordan of Florida, Bernice MacDonald and her husband, Tony, of Clifton, Galen Jordan and Lisa Paige of Windham, and Kathleen Fowler and her husband, Danny, of Newburgh; eight stepchildren; one brother, Frank Jordan of Glenburn; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by a son, William E. Jordan III; five sisters and four brothers. He will be especially missed by a stepson, Henry Lee Lounsbury; will be remembered by his friends, Herb and Dawn Lee; and a special friend, George, all of Brewer. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. Cremation arrangements by Cremation Basics, Inc., Bangor.
