BROOKSVILLE – William F. Tapley, 80, died Dec. 11, 2004, at the Blue Hill Hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Bucksport, the son of William R. and Velma (Hawes) Tapley. Bill had a love for horses. He operated the Wild Wood Stables in Acadia for 20 years and gave carriage rides. He is survived by three brothers, Paul and his wife, Gloria, of Brooksville, John and his wife, Elaine, of Sedgwick, Robert and his wife, Marilyn, of Penobscot; one sister, Ethel Tandy and her husband, Jack, of Brooklin; many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at Mount Rest Cemetery, North Brooksville, with the Rev. Dale True officiating.
